Description: Two multi-family rental apartment buildings comprised of one 8 storey building containing 164 units and one 6 storey building containing 75 units. A total of 356 parking stalls will be provided, with 145 surface stalls and 211 stalls underground. A total of 50 bicycle parking stalls will be provided, with 32 stalls located in storage rooms in the underground parking area and 18 at-grade stalls near the main building entrances.
The project replaces an empty lot, which previously housed three single-family lots at 1916, 1918, and 1920 St Mary’s Road which were consolidated and demolished in 2015/2016 under earlier owner-developers (see Riel Community Committee, Feb 2016) who intended to develop condos and marketed the project as “1918 on the Red” (as seen on Google Street View). Plans fell through due to the death of a major investment partner and the now-vacant lot was eventually sold to new ownership.
